In this post, we’ll tell you about the new features and changes to the new interface.
The new interface to SAP S/4HANA continues to support the QM-IDI interface. Compared to the R/3 interface, the only change is the introduction of an additional 40-digit material number, which replaces the previous 28-digit material number.
The existing LABS/Q SAP interface already supports RFC over WebSocket in addition to the classic RFC (CPIC), as it is based on SAP Java Connector version 3.1.
Cost of the transition
The question of the effort required for the transition depends on the specific project and cannot be answered in general terms. However, most of the effort is likely to stem from the following factors:
- Consolidation of existing data in the SAP system
- Internal Changes to SAP Workflows
- Defining other inspection types.
However, it is important to note that the workflow for LABS/Q remains unchanged; only new connection parameters are required to ensure a smooth migration of the interface from R/3 to S/4. An accurate estimate of the effort involved can only be provided through a detailed analysis of the specific project.
